Skin Peeling On Face – Signs, Symptoms, And Treatment

September 19, 2020 by ansari

Your skin starts peeling due to several different inflammatory processes of the skin or breakage of the skin. Sunburn is one of the top classic examples, but there are some other conditions too which make your skin peeling. These conditions include different types of eczema and various infections. If you get burns of any degree of severity, it will result in skin peeling on face. On the other hand, there are some types of medications, including topical retinoids which are used for removing, can make your skin peeling. If your skin gets blistered, the affected area will start blistering.

Causes Of Peeling Skin On Face

Symptoms & Signs:

When it comes to the uncomfortable peeling skin on face, sunburn isn’t the only reason always. There are other factors to be considered that cause skin peeling on the face. In this article, we’ll discuss the causes briefly.

1. Burns:

Sunburn is the number one reason that can cause skin peeling. Peeling of skin slough off the dead cells and the baby skin cells replace them.  If you want to prevent sunburn, you can use cream with at least SPF 30, that immediately blocks 97 percent of UVB rays.

2. Medications:

If you take medications, like retinoid products to reduce acne and wrinkles, you can be the victim of peeling skin. You can see flaking around the nose and mouth area if it happens due to these medications. In this case, you must consult your doctor and ask him if you ought to decrease the medicines schedule or extend the gap to two days. Your skin must be tolerant to these medications. When you apply retinoid creams or gels, make sure that you don’t apply it on sensitive areas around the nose and eyes.

3. Dry Skin:

If your skin gets dry, its inner cells can not stick together smoothly, and hence they begin to peel or flake off. Cold temperature also causes skin dryness, but there are also some other reasons for skin peeling on face.

If you live in an area where there is low humidity level, and you use harsh soaps, it will result in moisture loss which will make your skin dry. If you want to prevent peeling skin, you must keep your face hydrated. Buy a moisturizer best for your skin type as oily or dry or combination of both. You may also use cleansers that keep your skin moisture level stable.

4. Skin conditions:

There are different skin conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis and, eczema that can cause the face skin peeling. When you keep your skin hydrated, you can get rid of this problem.  Moreover, you should try to avoid rinsing off your face with warm water that may irritate your skin.

You can use lukewarm water to wash your face as well as a gentle cleanser (free of fragrances and harsh chemicals).

5. Allergies:

If you are allergic to any cosmetics like nail polish, hair products or other skin care products, it will result in skin peeling on face. Suppose, you became allergic to nail polish, the skin area around your eyes starts peeling. You should avoid using the cosmetics with high chemicals.
